Police in U.K. arrest man in connection to wife’s murder

Police in southeastern England have arrested a man in connection with the murder of his wife, according to British media.

Agris Titāns, 24, was arrested the evening of Aug. 2 in Rochester, which is about 50 kilometers east of London. Titāns’ 22-year-old wife, Edīte Titāne, was found murdered Aug. 1 in a house in Rochester.

A post-mortem examination determined she had been strangled, the BBC reported.

The couple have a young child who is now in the care of Edīte Titāne’s mother.

Police in England are looking for a 24-year-old Latvian man in connection with the murder of his wife, according to British media reports.

Agris Titāns is being sought after the body of his 22-year-old wife, Edīte Titāne, was found the morning of Aug. 1 in a home in Rochester, which is in Medway about 50 kilometers east of London.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has begun an investigation into the death.

“We understand he moved to Medway from Latvia about three months ago in search of work and believe he may still be in the area,” Detective Chief Inspector Jon Clayden said in a press release.

Titāns is described as 5 feet, 5 inches (1.65 meters) tall and of slim build.
