Laima Jansone has rocketed to popularity in Latvia because of her expert and unusual kokles artistry. A new music video, “Zalktis: Vortex of Living Energy,” features Jansone playing an 11-string Latgallian kokles. Jansone is a graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and also studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
