- Daugavas Vanagi ASV
- The Daugavas Vanagi was founded in 1945 by veterans of the Latvian Legion. Originally the organization was meant to provide support to soldiers and their families but over time the goals have become more inclusive of the sick, the old and needy families in the wider Latvian community. The organization is renowned for its patriotic stance that always strongly denounced the Communist regime in Latvia. Twenty DV chapters operate in the United States (groups also are found in eight other countries, including Latvia). The Web site includes information about the U.S. national board as well as the aims and goals of the organization. Updates and annual reports also are provided so visitors and can learn what the Daugavas Vanagi have achieved in practical terms over the past few years. EN LV (Reviewed February 2004)
