A solo album by Andris Ērglis, Sirdspuksti, will be released March 24.

A new solo album by singer Andris Ērglis, who took third place in this year’s Eirodziesma contest in Ventspils, is due out March 24, the Rīga-based recording company MICREC has announced. Titled Sirdspuksti, the compact disc includes 12 tracks.Ērglis, who turned 25 in January, has been involved in music since his teenage years. MICREC’s promotional material notes how Ērglis often has been torn between being a singer and a drummer. He performs drums with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. In 2001, he helped form the short-lived band Berm, which in 2003 won the “Liepājas dzintars” festival. In 2006, he helped start the band Cacao, which in September released its first album, Ripoja akmens.
Ērglis also gained notice as one of the six men who made up Bonaparti.lv, Latvia’s entry last year in the Eurovision Song Festival.
Sirdspuksti is characterized as a lyrical and romantic album and includes a cover version of “You Raise Me Up,” the anthem made most famous by Josh Groban, though it has been covered by many other artists.
