UPE Records has released a second A Touch of Latvian Folk Music collection.

Rīga-based UPE Records has released A Touch Of Latvian Folk Music, Volume Two, a second compilation of Latvian folk music aimed at a foreign audience. The recording includes a dozen tunes chosen from recordings by post-folklore group Iļģi and from UPE’s “Latvian Folk Music Collection.”Artists heard on the compact disc include Biruta Ozoliņa, Ainars Mielavs, Kaspars Putniņš, Valdis Muktupāvels, Rūta Muktupāvela, Sergejs Ancupovs, Annemarta Kreituse, Māris Muktupāvels, Aleksandrs Dmitrijevs and Līga Priede, as well as the groups Iļģi, Latvian Dance Music Group and Skandinieki.
Among the songs are tunes such as “Treis vaiņukus darynoju” (Three Crowns I Made) by Ozoliņa, “Skaista mana līgaviņa” (My Beautiful Bride) by Iļģi and “Div’ pļaviņas es nopļāvu” (I Cut Two Meadows) by Priede, Dmitrijevs and Māris Muktupāvels.
Included is a booklet that explains the songs in English.
The first A Touch Of Latvian Folk Music was released in 2002.
