DJ Ella breaks into France’s Top 40 of dance music

DJ Ella on Feb. 8 made it into the French dance music charts.
February 24, 2008
DJ Ella, otherwise known as Elīna Fūrmane, earlier this month briefly broke into the Top 40 of French dance music, Club 40, with her song “DJ Take Me.”Rīga-based recording company MICREC noted in a Feb. 19 press release that this is the first time someone from Latvia has made it into the prestigious listing. DJ Ella made her debut at No. 40 in the Feb. 8-9 compilation of what’s hot in French dance clubs. Unfortunately, by the time MICREC made the announcement, DJ Ella already has slipped out of the Top 40.
A music video of the song is expected to be unleashed on the Baltic and French markets in early March, MICREC said.
Fūrmane only in the past couple of years has turned to dance music. Earlier, before she became DJ Ella, the singer has success with songs such as “Vēlreiz.” She also gained public notice as a participant in the musical reality show “Talantu fabrikā,” where she became known as just Ella.
