Teen group Putnu Balle has released its second album, mr. Andersen - nemelo... (Mr. Andersen, Don’t Lie), the recording company MICREC announced May 31. The 13 tracks on the album were written by Mārtiņš Freimanis (lead singer of Tumsa), Putne Balle lead singers Valters Frīdenbergs and Kārlis Būmeisters, composer and guitarist Aivars Hermanis and composer Normunds Ķietis.Putnu Balle was formed in 2002. Besides Frīdenbergs and Būmeisters, members include Elvijs Bušs, Līva Kalniņa, Paula Ķiete and Kristiāna Stirāne. The group has seen a good degree of success in concerts around Latvia, but the greatest exposure came in 2005 when Frīdenbergs and Būmeisters, under the stage name Walters and Kazha, represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “The War Is Not Over.”
The group’s first album, Sapņu pārdevējs, was released in 2005.
More information about the band may be found on its official Web site, putnuballe.lv, where readers might get a chuckle from the fact the band in English is called Chicken Run.
