It seems there isn’t alot of fire left in you faithless latvians is there?
You can come up with intellectualizations that sound good for 5 minutes, but as you know don’t last a lifetime. Or maybe more than 5 minutes.

Currently this forum on “faith” has receded into ... nothing at all.
No intelligent comments, nothing new to say

Lost souls indeed.

Ikabods, you’re very tiresome and un-Christian in your aggresive and militant presentation of self. I just wish you’d go off and do some good deeds, like Jesus said: feed the poor, nurse the sick, open your home to the homeless, help the old and feeble, share your wealth with the needy, plant some trees, clean up litter, take in stray animals, write to your government reps to provide national healthcare, adopt an orphan, etc.  I hope this helps set you on the Jesus path to righteousness and redemption.  Good luck.

Nice thougthts ambersun, I’m just wondering how many of those rosy “good deeds” you, yourself are involved in. And secondly, you seem convinced that I am not involved. How would you know what things I’m involved in?

Ikabods, so what are you doing?  It just looks to me like you have way too much time on your hands and spend more time preaching Jesus than actually living Jesus. Prove me wrong and go away and when you come back maybe tell us what you’ve done.

“Netiesājiet, lai jūs netopat tiesāti.” I tire of people proclaiming the word of God who, when challenged, respond by belittling others, only demonstrating their own smallness of mind and soul.

Ok noted vecrumba, so you added a criticism to a criticism, but said nothing of your own belief.
I am criticizing because I see nothing but a garbage belief in these forums. Dievturiba? A Lativan God? Nonsense. I am taking a stand, you are simply not liking my stance, and adding nothing but your displeasure. Speak! Say your mind.

Looks like you may have over done it on the sacramental wine Ikabod - why don’t you sleep it off buddy. Also don’t forget - as ye sow so shall ye reap - I guess you will reap what - the very contempt you are already receiving. However I am reminded of “the meek shall inhertit the earth.” So let Ikabod stay somewhere else. I am truly thankful your calling us garbage. It demonstrates that you are just a combatant individual that likes to try to belittle others - with a holy air. I rememeber though that “blessed is the peace maker” - so I guess you must bedamning yourself Ikabod. REPENT Ikabod - and begin living a good God fearing life. Maybe if you search - you will find - but I doubt it - in that you must listen as well as speak. You have no common decency - I truly pray to our heavenly Father that he grant you the serenity.....

Quite honestly, my beliefs are mine to practice as I please. If you need a label, it’s Lutheran.

You characterize your derision of Dievturība as “taking a stand.” You fail to appreciate it for what it is. You fail to see its value either as an expression of Latvian cultural values by those who profess to practice it or as an artifact of Latvian culture worthy of study.

One elevates others’ perceptions of ones faith through a higher standard of moral and ethical behavior, not by cutting down the beliefs of others. One does not build a church by razing its surroundings. If I have expressed “displeasure” it is because in the incessant din of your bible thumping you have yet to say anything positive.

(You might consider the possibility of a cause-and-effect relationship between your approach to expressing your belief of salvation through Jesus and the reaction you have encountered here.)
