There is no need for Republic of Latvia whatsoever.  Repent. Return to russian fold, and in a short time Latvia will be again (euro)pean province.  Russian bolshies are on the run of economic supremacy and it will soon accept the degenerate (euro)nations back into its fold.  At about next energy crash generated by arbuz people aping berkely-brownies , bolshies will unite the Europe under the banner of Moscow.  And everybody will be provided with goodies from cradle till grave.  Sounds good. I think that there still are Letts remembering those good old days.

For the few of us whom consider that we belong to our tribe, and not to the trash of the world, the solution is fairly simple.

1.  Redefine Latvia as ethnic Latvian Republic.
2.  Limit Saima to ethnic Latvians and only in advisory capacity
3.  Install “Saimnieks” and let him run the farm
4.  Restrict citizenship to permanent residents of the country.
5.  Provide and create in-land economic balance before allowing foreign investment.
6.  Build four atomic power plants
7.  Go to church on Sunday, sing dainas, drink beer, and make true Latvian babies.

So there - - -

Now, now, Mr. P.B.

Don’t you agree that it would be better to export Charadriidae
eggs to multi-culti world rather than our opportunist Irish-(so called)Latvians?

Very interesting command Miss Anita, sounds like “pie kājas” for a dog.

Now, now, Mr LL… you give seven commands, I suggest one more, and suddenly “command” is a bad thing?  On the other hand, I suppose mine is repetitive… you did say that only permanent residents should have a say in matters.  Including, I suppose again, giving commands.

As to your question about Skokie… puzzling.  The weather in Skokie is pretty much the same as in Evanston, Wilmette, Morton Grove, Golf, parts of northern Chicago.  Why do you ask??

Ah, and Mr. LL - whoever taught you the phrase ‘berkeley brownies’ has a lot to answer for on judgment day.

As reported by LETA, the Freedom Monument has become a popular site for dirty pranks among foreigners, especially British and Irish citizens, visiting Latvia. Most often the city’s guests have been caught relieving themselves by the monument. The court usually fines the foreigners with LVL 50 administrative penalty.

Is that all we are worth ? Ls 50 per pee on our sacred symbols?  How many tourists from “western civilized” nations do we need to invite to boost the State’s income?

Close the borders and jail the creeps!

As a hippie in the 60’s (I got my nose broken during the police riots in Chicago) and drafted for the Vietnamese war, I know what “‘berkeley brownies’ means. I did not see the light at the end of the tunnel or believe that racism was done in the U.S.A. It had only bean raised. Racism was advanced in the U.S.A. in 1897 when the south won the war.
Freedom is just as important today as it was then, so any attempt by any government to suppress it is against my will.
I will not begin to condemn Latvian politics until 3 generations of Latvians have passed since the original freedom times. There today is so much Russian politics left over from occupation times that it has to leave the minds of the present people and it takes time.
This is a subject that will only be solved by Latvians who were living in Latvia during the occupation and not by certain “johnny come lately” Latvians. All people who entered after the Russians left should be only used as references and not as definite results.
There are to many people who were not born in LATVIA who think they have rights but not according to me are only visitors.
I believe in Latvia and will always follow it’s way but I will never try to discredit it for it’s different opinion of mine. I am not there and the vote’s it takes is what the country is about.

Miss Anita –
you are correct in your dressing me down.  I was jumpy in my reply. Please accept my apology.  I still think that the comparison of “Live in Latvia” with a dog command is, let’s say, fitting.  Shall we incorporate your amendment as:
----------------
4.  Restrict citizenship to permanent residents of the country. A stay out of Latvia for purposes not connected with affairs of the state, or for obtaining higher education needed for the good of the country (as defined by Secretary of Education) shall void the voting rights and result in negation of further exit visas. Exit and entry visas for tourists should be for six weeks only, and become null and void if person accepts gainful employment outside Latvia.
----------------
Just a question: to whom I have to answer for my phrase ‘berkeley brownies’ on judgment day?

Another question: you do not have problems about “watermelons”, do you? Sorry, this designation is not mine, and I do not know the origins of it, but I like it. Very fitting for certain class of human creatures.

About Chicago area – my only personal connection with that city were regular overlays at the O’Hare airport some thirty years ago.  Judging from your response to a topic some years ago I thought that maybe you are one of the three-citizenship people living in area previously mentioned.  Just fishing :)

Reading my old man’s handiwork, he was one of the original framers of “Satversme”, I am tempted to flesh out my original seven points above. However, as I do not have a legal mind, I was born normal, it may exceed my capabilities.

How about helpful suggestions?
