One of my most interesting experiences was studying comparative religion for a semester in college. We did a field trip a week, participating (if we chose) in the services and practices of other faiths and belief systems. There was nothing I participated that I found at odds with my own faith or--more to the point--that I could not quite easily view as an expression of my own faith even if the ritual involved was different.

So I take a particularly dim view of anyone who says their religion is right and others are wrong. A pox on anyone who doesn’t celebrate all the world’s religions.

Hmm.  Seems that I shall settle for pox. There are many rituals I do not care to participate.  Circumcision, for one. Islamic beheading for another. Black cat torture by devil worshipers, etc.

Did Professor Joseph Campbell considered and explained “Dievturiba” in his searches?
