- Talka at Priedaine
Come help get the New Jersey Latvian Society’s center Priedaine in shape for the spring and summer season on April 26 at Priedaine, 1017 Highway 33 East, Freehold. This volunteer labor talka is open to all; non-members are also welcome. Drinks and food will be provided to volunteers. For more information visit Priedaine’s Web site at www.priedaine.org.

- IREKS Baltic festival
Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian folk dance groups from up and down the east coast will be performing April 26 at the East Coast Estonian Village Festival (Ida Ranniku Eesti Kula Simman, or IREKS) at the Lithuanian Hall, 851-853 Hollins St., Baltimore. The Latvian folk dance group Namejs and the folk ensemble Sudrabavots, both from the Washington, D.C. area, and the Philadelphia dance troupe Dzirkstele, will be among the performers.
