DJ Lethal of the American rap-metal group Limp Bizkit was born in Rīga, Latvia. His real name is Leor DiMant. When he was seven years old, his family left the Soviet Union and immigrated to New York, later moving to Los Angeles.
Before joining Limp Bizkit, DJ Lethal played with the Boston-based rap band House of Pain, which in 1992 became a sensation with the hit song, “Jump Around.”
In 2001, DJ Lethal began his own recording label, Lethal Dose, according to MTV.com.

Yeah! That's realy cool! Some years, since I know this fact, I am as much proud of latvians then before. I think It's realy great and I know that he is not the first and will not be tha last. For Example - the man who discovered the road signs which are flurience in the night of our car lights also is latvian. He was born in Latvia and live here till death.

Proud to be Latvian... I never knew this fact about DJ Lethal. I just found out that.. while accidentaly browsing this site! keep up the good work.. this homepage rocks!!. Even Latvians in Latvia probably haven't heard that ;)) I guess so because I like Limp Bizkit and it was new for me. Anywayyy....... I'm proud to be latvian not only by this Limp Bizkit-fact.. it's just I love my homecountry. ok..pietix daudz muldeet. Turaas visi, kas sveshumaa un kas maajaas!!

Hello, I was looking for information about Latvian Artists in Minnesota. My uncle, Uldis Cepure, is in Minneapolis he is the Rev. at Latvian Ev.-Lutheran Church of Minneapolis and St Paul. I am in Lincoln, NE and am an Artist. The sad news is my uncle has terminal cancer and is not doing so well. He has been in Minn. for 30+ years and will be missed by many. Prayers are welcome on his behalf. Andris

Aye, I did not know that DJ is a Latvian like me. Wow that is so great. I love Limp Bizkit. Really do think that his sampling is great. I have all their albums. I hope that there is more Latvian's in showbiz.

Joe Strummer of The Clash was born in Ankara, Turkey. This fact did not make him a Turk. So I'm not to overexcited about the fact that DJ Lethal was born in Latvia. Was his original last name maybe Dimants iso Dimant? If not, what kind of name is Leor DiMant? Is it Jewish? Does anyone know what nationality he is? Cant' find anything about it on other sites.

Lethal's parents are also Latvian and he wasn't just born in Riga, he spent the early part of his childhood there as well and yes, he and his family are , in fact, Jewish. Leor means "my light" and Dimant (altered to DiMant) means "Diamond." His nationality would therefore be Latvian, his religion Judaism. As for websites, his myspace could be a good place to start:)
