Folklore Day
Folklore Day took place July 12 at the Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum in Rīga. Folklore ensembles sang folk tunes and performed dances, displayed craftwork and recreated scences from traditional folk culture in Latvia's countryside. Among the performers was the women's group Saucējas. In a part of the museum representing the region of Latgale, a traditional wedding was recreated. —Daina Gross
