Judging from the accents, the pesky little dude is a non-Lett who has made the effort to learn the language enough to probably obtain Latvian citizenship if he wants it (but clearly he doesn’t) and the ponytailed big dude has a good grasp of the mātes valoda inflections (tho’ he probably wouldn’t make his strēļnieku ancestors proud with his appearance or poor posture).
So where does all this once again leave us?

P.S. As for my personal opinion….Latvian Internet sensation? Proves my point that the homeland needs a complete overhaul of its collective sense of humor. It’s currently missing-in-action and regrettably has been for far too long.
actually, the ‘little dude’ is Latvian (name is Rihards Mednis). Anyway, he got kicked out of the dorm for drunkenness, but he’s found a new place to live supposedly -
in any case, I didn’t quite get the joke either, just yet another drunken guy being vulgar. See that every day. Not sure why this one became a ‘sensation’.
And I don’t think he actually says those exact words in the clip, he says ‘Huļi viņa ir netīra?’ over and over again though. Guess it is like how ‘Play it again, Sam’ doesn’t ever actually appear in Casablanca…!
What does “huli” even mean? For that matter, I’m guessing from context that a “koja” is a dormitory? Google told me it was a hammock - that wouldn’t fit, though. (The good dictionaries are at home…)
As to why this went viral - I can see it. Absurd can play well.
