I gush one more time.It is quite an accomplishment for a country of 2.3 nillion people
to become the no.3 ranked(proven)in the world.
I do not recall them missing a single serve.
It may turn out to be the only medal we, all of us(diaspora and home)will get,I hope not,
but not longer blanked in the medal standings.

maris, and here I thought the US was the most nationalistically-centered broadcast. Then again, I doubt the Latvian beach volleyball team would have gotten as much interest as it did if it had not bumped the US. But because it did, “Latvia” trended amazingly high after the quarter-final game.
As to the men’s BMX - I believe LV/Maris won the gold medal last time.

But he’s up against aussie Sam Willoughby .. the local press a while ago speculated that the two would be the main contenders.
