I think it truly hysterical for Ambersun to speculate on what Latvians understood or understand. Highly literate, Letts in 1917 (and in 1913, and in 1918, and in…)—Latvians understood a lot. I’d even say—more than most.

Nothing prevents Ambi from sampling the literature of the time.
