Saw that press release by this Canepa guy this morning and my first thought was “Ambersun has read that book! Even better, Michigan isn’t all that far from Chicago, I’m sure she will have this Canepa guy straightened out in no time at all.”
Seriously, Canepa has put out a number of press releases that make it to the “Latvia” section of my presonalized Google News page. Each one I have seen tries to undermine Latvia’s standing as an independent democratic country either with this “NATO can’t trust Latvia” or his last release in April about the persecution of Vilkaste and Vaskevics by the government. He is in somebody’s pocket and doing a good job of portraying Latvia and a very negative light.

Something definitely fishy about Canepa and the press release reads oddly anyway. Its mostly disjointed “facts” that don’t really have much to do with the headline itself. Wondering if Vilkaste or Vashkevich might not be clients. Main reason why I figured I’d ask about Lapsa’s book. Lapsa used to be a well respected journalist.

Can the Man from the Entity, as a Chicagoan, explain why this alderman from Rogers Park (ma Bohême in adolescence… I used to hang out at the Heartland under the silkscreen of Mao, & tho I didn’t pal around with terrorists, I did indeed meet Ayers’ wife there) got into this? Who is this guy?

Visu gaišu,

Lapsa is the eidolon of pērkamais žurnālists. No value judgment there…

Eidolon? Talk english damn you. Had to google.
In a nutshell, Chicago politics. The alderman is chairman of the Human Relations Committee for the Chicago City Council and Thomas Canepa is human rights lawyer or so he claims to be. Typical conversation I’d imagine goes like this:
Tom: Hello Alderman Moore. I need a favor.
Joe: Hiya Tom. Sure thing.
Tom: Can you issue a proclamation about ____.
Joe: Sure thing. Anything for you Tom. BTW. Did you know I have an election coming up? Have you made a contribution yet?

I didn’t know you frequented Heartland. Too granola for my tastes (but the Russian stripper used to drag me there), but the sweet potato fries were awesome.

As to Lapsa, we talking Geraldo Rivera perkamais or Christiane Amanpour perkamais?

And as to Aleks. He is.

Can true Latvians trust NATO?

Are “Latvian” opportunists selling out the ethnic “Dzintarzeme” to Euro money-changers

“Latvju Tauta” is the “rightful owner” of Latvija.
