Latvians did not suffer like the Holocaust.

As the only openly semi-jew posting to this forum I am truly getting frustrated. First I was unseated as the leader of the cabal by PC. Now he is even infringing on my only openly semi-jew poster status.

Courlander,

I know Jew and PC is no Jew. I don’t know you, but you is goofy.

Andrejs, the ONLY openly semi-jew posting to this forum

WTF?
It looks like jandžs is jumping on the anti-semitic bandwagon as well. Here is the heading to his most recent post under that topic

FROM FORESTS TO DEMOCRACY TO ZIO-KLEPTOCRACY
or how to keep the salaries of ministers from going the way
of the rest of “them” populists.

Even threw in a little objectification of the other as “them”
It is very difficult to stomach what seems to be a persistent undercurrent in the Latvian psyche.
With all of the bellyaching that goes on here about the Latvian people getting labeled as Nazis by the Russians, some of us turn right around and do the very same thing to Jews. Depressing.

Ah, I had a sneaking suspicion this would happen.

Into, Aleksejs

Have to agree with you both on this item.
I guess it depends upon where one was in the cycle of events.

But it zip zero compared to what Israel is doing to Palestine.

Is intellectual laziness a (trimda) Latvian specialty, or do anonymous forums always attract such low-octane thinking? Nothing wrong with stating an outrageous or provocative point of view and having a to-and-fro of ideas, but there are no ideas worth debating here.  The only consolation is that the anti-semitism that pops up is so toothless that it doesn’t threaten anyone except with embarrassment-by-association. Time to hit the Ignore button again, I guess.

Just read “Amidst Latvians During the Holocaust” by Edward Anders.

He lived through what was happening in Latvia at the time.
And I don’t read any bitterness / revenge seeking in his writing.

A refreshing autobiographical read.

... ‘Dispassionate analysis’  ... as per the review by Peteris Boltsaitis - Occupation Museum Association chairman
(a fair amount of cross references to A. Ezergalais’ writings).

Just because he lives in USA, it’s impossible to refer to him as of ‘Latvian descent’.
