In this era and season of frequent commercial overindulgence, heartwarming tear-jerker stories like this one remind us all that what is ultimately most important….is connecting with those we truly care about.
Keep your doors open for possible connections (even on LOL). Doing that sure beats the sound of slamming doors.

In keeping with this thread’s Holiday Spirit and commitment to music,
I share Happy New Year’s wishes to all of you via the following
animated, music enriched e-Card (after accessing the link, just click your cursor on
the violin in the image to activate the musical animation….when the
animation is done, click several times on the “down arrow” on the
right hand side of my message greeting to see the rest of the message
scroll up.)
Daudz laimes 2012. gadā (Much luck to you in 2012),
Alberts
P.S. I am not promoting this commercial e-Card website. I happen to be a subscriber personally because I think their animations are well done and cool.
I love the way the bear’s cheeks turn pink because he’s a little off sync with the other players!! And her Advent calendar of London was just fabulous this year!! I was so sad when it ended, I so looked forward to opening up something new and interesting each day!
Thank you, Albert and Happy New Year to you and all the LOLers!
It’s uncharacteristically warm here the last couple of days. I came close to making a 7 hour car trip to North Carolina to watch my alma mater play my graduate school in a basketball game today but ultimately settled for watching it on TV, reading, relaxing and starting the new year with a mellow, unstressed perspective. As James Taylor once said “D*amn that traffic jam….” I never met a traffic jam I couldn’t handle while lying in bed.
