You make it sound as if Lavrov alone dictates Russia’s foreign policy. He serves at the pleasure of the president after all.

I just read that the Letts intend to deed back Latvia to the Ruble-toting Russkies (or whoever will make a better offer), that Greece’s Papandreou will be taking up residence in Vidzemes hinterlands’ kviešu lauki soon because the people are friendlier there to debonair, foreign, continental men who drive cool, foreign-sounding chariots (though they have a documented history of struggling with the balance-the-checkbook-thing) and that Julian Assange will be taking up residence in Rīga because unlike the Swedes, the Letts don’t care about a little corruption or friskiness with their lady folk….is any of this true? Or is this just a slow news day/weekend on LOL and the tabloids once again got carried away and I believed them? Nature abhors a news vacuum….

I like the suggestion of the president of Lithuania, that to help Greece out Lithuania should buy one of the Greek islands.

Hi Bruno:

I hadn’t got wind of that one. I’m glad your’re on top of your game. Thanks for the update. A sense of humor is a good thing in these otherwise dark times.

Except that Bruno’s game has been questionable for some time. The President of Lithuania made no such suggestion.

Regarding the topic at hand, if Lavrov is such a concern to rise to bogeyman status - my suggestion would be to not foster the very rhetoric from which he thrives.

I stand corrected.  It was not the president of Lithuania but the “mērs of Viļna”. Lithuania.

Yeah..Thats the one. Here’s his newest idea…“Don’t make me bring the tank out”..If the guy would have parked his car on the sidewalk - no problem.

To paraphrase Royko - if you put a camera at any corner in Vilnius, Zuokas will be in front of it within 15 minutes.

RITVARS JANSONS.

Latvieši un kolaboracionisms: jautājumu vairāk nekā atbilžu
