I want to share this with you all because you never know when one of your posts will end up on Google.
Sometime last April Irena posted the recipe for Bizet Torte, right below Ilze Klavina’s post on the same subject. Both were responding to a member asking information about this dessert.
Recently in an exchange of emails, Irena has helped me in making this torte and we have even exchanged photos of our finished products (not for publication).
Yesterday my daughter brought up the subject of the Bizet torte at work and a group of the ladies got very curious and rushed to their computer to Google it up.  Would you believe the very first place to go for the recipe was Latvians on Line!
Yes, there it was, our Latvian Culture & Cooking topic with Irena’s recipe et al.

Thank you, Arija for your kind words and I’m glad this Bizet torte has become such a big hit!  Personally, I think it’s one of the best tortes I’ve ever eaten.  And I thank the person who wrote the Latvian cookbook, though, unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the lady or the book, just that she was from Canada and the book was written in English.

I hand wrote the recipe as well as a few others that I found particularly interesting, appetizing from a friend who happened to have the book—that was such a long, long time ago, before there were things like scanners and printers.  But, Arija, I believe YOU are becoming an expert now since you’ve made this torte on a number of occasions.  More power and I’m sure you can teach me a few things…it’s been fun sharing and I’m glad to have had the opportunity of adding something of value to you.
