“Prieciigas tiitardienas” would translate to “Happy Turkey Days” ,
except that in Turkey it’s “American Bird Days”.
Tiitarbeeres for the birds…..................................

ps. We already had a similar fest on Nov. 5th: Maartinji i believe.
Except geese get roasted….......................................

—the proper way to say “happy thanksgiving” would be: prieciiga Pateiciibas diena—-which if literally translated would be “happy thansgiving day”, although there is no such specific celebration in Latvia (the closests would be “Martinji” which is celebrated on ‘Martins day’ (early November);
—whoever came up with “Turkey Day” as being the translation was surely making things up; apparently, Canada and the U.S. are the only two countries in the world which celebrate specifically “Thanksgiving Day”, but I know that not everybody has turkey on that day; “Thanksgiving” is a harvest festival which many cultures have, but on different dates depending on when harvest actually occurs in their part of the world (that’s why Canada and the U.S. celebrate on different dates
