We do need a moral renaissance, but this is too much!

There is a difference between keeping historic tradition alive with home brewed beer and a slab of white cheese, and ligo dziesmas,  as contrasted to current debauchery with belgian mass-produced profit maker and african rooted hip-hop and hard rock noise of frenzy.

Latvian (ethnic) nation is based on basic family values which, seem to me,  are effectively being destroyed by “new world” social engineering.   Debauchery and fornication are neither tradition nor freedom.  It is destruction of nation’s soul.

Unless the celebration is cleaned up to pre-bolshevik standards,  I have to approve the stand of religious morality leaders.

During Janu nakts till 6 in the morning vigils at bon fires with prayers for Latvia were held by christian groups. I know because one of my relatives participate. I enjoied ” Janu ieligosanu and zalum balli Jurmala.

Again, you have witnessed debauchery that I never have!  Though… what exactly is a “belgian mass-produced profit maker”?

I did spot a few empty cans of Bud Light at Piesaule last weekend. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time! I have no guilty conscience, we were drinking Latvian mass-produced profit makers. :-)

Let’s ban a traditional celebration enjoyed by many around the world because a few think another few misbehave. Makes perfect sense to some, I guess…

There is no conflict between fold tradition at Christmas or at Easter!  Why should there be a conflict in case of Jani?  Taking joy out of religion makes it gloomy and unattractive, and religion is necessary for the survival of any nation.  No tribe, nation, culture or civilization without a religion has left a durable imprint in history!
