Was wondering if anyone had any notes, references or links to sites with a complete list of Latvian festivals throughout the year; information on traditions; and sayings/beliefs.

Found this wikipedia site, but I believe some celebrations might be missing from its list
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septinu_Bralu_Diena

Looking as well for information on traditions and sayings/beliefs.

ar cienu.

A good place to start looking for all things latvian is the Latvian Institute website http://www.li.lv

Go to the “culture” heading & look at everything there.  Then go to the “Culture links” pagfe and you will find even more to look at.

Dear members

In the course of our last visit to Latvia, my wife and I had a very tasty meal called ‘karbonade’. Would anyone here have the recipe?

Thanks

I live in England and Gordon Ramsay is one of the prominent cooks here. So, thank you for the Internet information, which will enable me to locate the recipe, including, I expect, Ramsay’s additional suggestions.

Grateful
