Ahh, a most excellent post! This is an example of living culture, where trans-global corporate and Local Latgali mashup into globalocal! RFLMAO! (Maybe I need to elaborate on the acronym for those who fear the globalocal future?)
Thanks P!

Desecration of a classic like Red Heat is just plain offensive. I am sure Ambersun would agree.

P.S.
Very much enjoyed Rezekne Hits.

Very much enjoyed Rezekne Hits.

It’s a great piece, I think. Quite ambiguous, even, in the sense of high art. What do you think, Ambersun? You hail from these parts, no?

So Andrejs loved Rezekne, Roberts and Aleksejs loved bez PVN - but my vote is for the “Pelis”.  Brightened my morning!

I have the latest from Kapļi, a Franco-Dvinskian collaboration, in .mp3 form… the francophones here might like it the most. I’m loath to post it ‘cause they didn’t. If anyone wants it, e-mail me.

I liked the ‘Pelis’ too!  The others were cute, funny, not necessarily in that order, but as far as “talent”, my vote still goes to Mara Upmane, Astro n’Out; I haven’t heard a better Latvian pop rock sound, yet.

Irena who is definitely biased about these things.

That video works on all levels. I really really liked the composition and pacing, and the beauty of it. And the fiscal conservative in me likes that it doesn’t cost much to shoot, you just need a good eye and imagination.

But I don’t think Ambersun liked it. It’s not very Latvian.

Woe is me,

Peteris,
How do you think I get along in Amerika, “where nary is heard, a dear Latvian word” and the airwaves are American all day?

Your airwaves are AmeriKKKan all day, Ambersun? You should twist the dial. I am sure you can get Spanish more often than you might like, even prior to the Reconquista.

Sonriendo,

Are you nuts, Amerika is Latvian and has nothing to do with KKK.  Get yourself together and think Latvian not faux PC (politically (in)correct).  I wrote “American” airwaves for a reason, not English-only, but of course you rushed to your beloved judgment (again) and missed that.
Visu labu even if you’re P(in)C,
