My relationship with her is excellent, and she’s high on the shelves.
I have a lot of friends with whom I vehemently disagree politically on some points, but agree on others. Seems natural to me.
She just borrowed the Bastjānis book from me. She detested it. Tant pis. One of the most admirable things about Anita is that she respects heretics and takes an uncommon approach to them—heck, she even had a flicker of admiration for the notorious Carnation Girl, so long as she stood up for what she believed.
Her latest book was just published—my wife’s painting is on the cover and I did the cover design.
I’m glad you have gatherings of “true Latvians”—I hope you define that concept for us someday.
