An out of print book that was requested by someone on LOL many moons ago.

In English. Published 1991, Dos Tejedoras Fiber Art Publications, Saint Paul, Minn.  Author acknowledges input and support from well known Latvian weavers: Otilija Mezulis, Zinta Enzelins, Sarmite Vilks and Velta Vilsons.

Large format, 178 pages, 50 color photos, 104 b&w;, 41 illustrations, 300 drafts, invaluable reference for weavers and anyone interested in Latvian folk art. Drafts are given for 4 to multiharness weaves, ranging from fine linens to coverlets and reversible rugs. Contains sections on cultural background and Latvian textile traditions and the unique character of Latvian weaving equipment.
There is a comment in the back by well-known Latvian fiber artist Vita Plume who says that “Autore ir petijusi originalas gramatus un senus audumus. Augstas kvalitates izdevums, kas butu vajadzigs katra audeja gramatu plaukta.” ( The author has extensively researched books and weavings—this high quality book is needed on every weavers bookshelf )
