DELFI 01/22/07 Par 2006.gada vārdu kļuvis vārds “draugoties”, par nevārdu tika atzīts vārds “hendlings”, bet par gada Spārnoto teicienu tika atzīts citāts no “Jūrmalgeitas” skandālu aizsākušajam telefonsarunām – “paņēma un uzmeta”, informēja akcijas rīkotāji.

Juris’ “Kas jauns Lavijā” is read not just by LOL participants, but also by “Sveiks” forum members, and perhaps others.  Even his detractors on Sveiks have been quick to give him credit for the excellent job that he’s been doing for many years now.  I, for one, continually find articles and news releases that I’ve missed and am very grateful that he’s putting the effort into continuing this digest.

By the way – years ago there used to be a saying that to get to the truth about Lembergs, you had to read “Diena,” but to get the truth about Šķēle, you had to read NRA.  Though the players have somewhat changed, there’s still some validity to this.  I’m just glad someone else is willing to go through “Necīņa,” as some call it.

I would also like to express my appreciation for all the effort Juris puts into Kas Jauns Latvija.  Just today I was reading some articles about the border treaty, which I had missed.  There’s a wealth of info there if one wants to take the time and look--art, photography, poetry, material from Jauna Gaita, excerpts from Sveiks--WONDERFUL!!!
