Hello Darrell!

Wow, I guess I must be sorely naive, but I always thought of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, places I’ve always wanted to experience as so very natural, pristine in their beauty.  So, it did surprise me to read about fish contaminated with mercury, having to take precautionary measures, not having them as part of your diet, more than once a week and all the other pollution, disregard for the environment, etc. etc.

Keep up the good work ‘Country Boy’!

Irena, always enjoyed you and still do, you are a credit to Latvia without a doubt. Thanks for your kind words. Nova Scotia is truely beautiful but you can’t see what is coming up the seaboard and down in the rain. I say we have to clean up our own backyard before we can condemn the USA though.

Nova Scotia is the tailpipe of North America, hense our cancer rates. The jet stream runs from west to east and pushes a lot of toxins right over us. It’s colder when the jet stream is below us but much cleaner air, the next day it could be above us and we get more humid warm air from New York, Boston etc. Kind of neat if it wasn’t for the pollution. The warmer air mostly pushes the jet stream above us in summer and visa versa in winter.
