I am looking for the family of Alberts Krumins from Riga he went to Tasmania in 1946

we have several letters from Latvia but are unable to read them and as we will be in Riga in June this year I would like to meet any family

There was an Alberts Krumins in Toronto--died a few years ago. He still has family in Toronto.
I have no idea if he came to Canada thru Tasmania...an uncommon route to anywhere!

The site http://www.naa.gov.au/ has many, many references to persons who arrived in Australia under the family name Krumins.

Among those references are:

1.  For Alberts Krumins:

One born 8 Feb. 1922

Another(?) born 8 November 1922 and arrived here 29 November 1947

Another whose naturalisation ceremony was scheduled for 4 April 1957. btw, that record is apparently held in the Tasmanian office of the Archives, therefore it could be for the person you are interested in.

2.  Only one listing for Jekabs Krumins, born 2 November 1899.

Of course, none of these might have anything to do with your research.
