Just returned from Riga where there was a big fuss about the “gay pride” parade that did not take place.  Actually it was nothing more than an attempt by the “ sh**t pushers” to demand that the society at large acknowledge and pay homage to them.  The opposition demonstrated against the “ sh**t pushers” by throwing sh**t at them.

Amiss of all this going on ,was the idea of Platonic love that Christianity in its message applied to all humanity five hundred years after Plato.

oh, and we are to believe that throwing excrement is what Christianity (and the message of love and peace) is all about?

Platonic Love or not….rather irrelevant, and who trusts Plato, anyway?….odd how many seem to overlook that the same organ that men use for making love doubles as a waste conduit as well. But I guess that’s ok when it applies to the majority?

The “waste conduit” serves us well to rinse out the germs that try to invade the male reproductive organ during lovemaking. That is why pederaty is so dangerous.

To some people “ making love” and “sh**T pushing” does not mean the same thing.

Well, Bruno, now I’m completely confused, so I’ll go back to your opening post but try to ignore what (in my opinion) is the rather provocative language that was used in your post.

Obviously I am not in Riga, but I would be surprised if gays (or any minority group) is expecting society to “pay homage” to them.

My (perhaps limited) experience of minority groups is that all they want is to live a normal life and have the same rights that the majority insist upon, expect and often take for granted.

These people did not at some point “choose” their sexual preference – it chose them.

This is all old ground and why we need to go over and over on these points is a complete mystery to me....

It would seem to me that “Platonic Love” is appropriate in situations where it would be morally wrong for a couple to engage sexually eg. if I were a close friend of a woman who is already married.

Of course, what is deemed “morally wrong” seems to vary wildly and widely....

As for sex being dangerous, sure it is, but I doubt that that statement would apply exclusively to gay relationships.

Platonic schmatonic...it’s what the priest
said to the altar boy.
The most dangerous sex is sex on TV.
That is having sex while standing
on a TV set..........

It is the times.  In pre-war Latvia higher society talked about the “english disease”, and in hushed tones at that. Today in the permissive sexual atmosphere that we have, talking about “sh**t pushing” fits right in.  After all that is what it is.  Perhaps some things should be kept behind closed doors in the closet, and not paraded about.

To your second paragraph. Why are parades held ?  Have you heard of a parade held in the dark of the middle of the night ?

Are there any parades at midnight?

“Hexennacht” for one.

And then there is “The midnight ramble”
held all over by cycling enthusiasts.

Gatlinburg midnight parade....

There’s probably more, but not in
the dictionary........LOL

pete

ps. some Mardi Gras parading goes on till dawn.

pps. how could i forget that latvians parade
around all night on certain summer night.
