Nothings changed, not that there was a chance for change. I am Latvian, but I do not have the right to vote as I dont have citizenship. My parents, Latvian and Estonian, do give me the freedom to comment. I am sad. Sad that vindictive blackmail is allowed to exist. Sad that it appears that it will take a few more years before parties get their priorities right on what should be political agenda. My ethics would not have allowed me to give consent to any candidate. Sincerely yours, Barbara

Maybe 62% is not suitable for a parliament-election - we boast with 84% at the latest in Denmark - but probably your 62% shows more honesty than ours. We completely support the "representative democracy" in our country, which implies, that you engage at election time, and vote for a person, you give your faith the next 4 (or less) years. If she/he disappoints you, you just have to kick the person out next time. But in between - don't cry or complain (OK to your representative), because, it was you, who voted her/him in. Congratulations with the 62%, that probably are more serious than the 84%, I can't find the last two month up to an election in Denmark. . . . HJG

Thanks and kudos to LOL for providing coverage of the Saeima elections. It would also be very interesting to see a breakdown of the vote abroad by country. Paldies!
