- Latvian National Song and Dance Festival
The Latvian National Song and Dance Festival is scheduled July 5-12 in Rīga. Choirs, folk ensembles and dance troupes from around Latvia—as well as from Latvian communities abroad—will participate in the event, which is held every five years. For further information, visit www.dziesmusvetki2008.lv.

- ‘The Singing Revolution’ in Minneapolis
The Singing Revolution, a documentary about nonviolent resistance to Soviet occupation in Estonia and the Baltics, will be presented at 2:40 p.m., 5:05 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. July 10 in the Lagoon Cinema, 1320 Lagoon Ave., Minneapolis.
