In observance of the Commemoration Day of Victims of Communist Terror, a memorial program is scheduled June 14 in the Vestre Cemetery, Vestre Kirkegårds Allé 15, Copenhagen. Latvia’s ambassador Andris Razāns will address the Latvian community and lay flowers at a monument to Latvians who died in exile. The Brisbane Latvian chorus Beverīna will host a program commemorating the deportation to Siberia of Latvian citizens in the 1940s. The program starts at 14:00 hours June 14 in the Latvian House, 24 Church Court, Buranda. Admission by donation.

- Archbishop to speak at June 14 event
Archbishop Jānis Vanags of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church will be the featured speaker during the June 14 commemoration scheduled at 6 p.m. June 14 in the Latvian Ev.-Lutheran Church of Minneapolis and St. Paul, 3152 17th Ave. S., Minneapolis. The program will be introduced by Maija Zaeska, vice chairperson of the Latvian Organization Association of Minnesota. Pupils of the Minneapolis and St. Paul Latvian School will read passages from Sibīrijas bērni and play the kokle. The program will be closed by Laila Švalbe, head of the Latvian school. Refreshments will be available after the program. Adult admission is by donation, but children get in free.
